Jail & Prison Ministry
Jesus is in Jail! Will you pray with Him?
“Be not afraid!” Jesus was incarcerated during his life, and he can still be found in the jail. Come and see for yourself. Join a ministry team! Volunteer ministers have a charisma for Christ and an ability to share faith in Jesus. Consider assisting with Catholic Services at the jail for both women and men.
At least four Catholic volunteers from local Catholic parishes visit the jail every week. Both men and women are needed and welcome. Some volunteers serve on an as-needed basis, while others serve on one Saturday or Wednesday each month, and others serve every other week.
Men and women are invited to join in our Prison Ministry and remind inmates of the basic truth: that they are a creation of God – and God does not make junk! To be there is the best thing we can do for them!
New to Volunteering?
All volunteers and ministers, including priests and deacons, must attend an orientation before entering the jail.
Before beginning prison ministry, all volunteers must attend an orientation on “The Rules & Regulations of the Jail” presented by the jail staff. Orientations are scheduled three times a year (around February, June, and November) and take place at the jail. All volunteers must also provide a Letter of Good Standing from their parish.

Catholic Classes and Services
Men's class and service takes place Saturday mornings, and women's class and service takes place Wednesday evenings. We greatly appreciate it when we can have several ministers present to help with prayer, Eucharistic, music, assigning readings, serving, and hospitality.
Please sign up only after you have been cleared to enter the jail and have completed the orientation process.
Huron Valley Women's Correctional Facility
We celebrate Mass with Holy Communion for female inmates every Sunday morning. We are in need of at least two volunteer ministers to help with the various roles of the liturgy, such as prayer, music, hospitality, and the Eucharist.
Please sign up only after you have been cleared to enter the jail and have completed the orientation process.
Friends of the Master House
